Highlights you can experience

Destination 1: Nairobi

You’ll arrive in Nairobi and enjoy a downtown stroll as you acclimatize to Africa. A thriving restaurant scene provides meaty menus of African cuisine. A visit to a Masai market that sells hand-woven crafts and traditional clothing showcases traditional African craft. Cap off your first day at the leafy grounds of Nairobi National Museum and enjoy colourful African art before your journey into the wilderness of Africa begins.

Destination 2: Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Today, you move beyond the foothills of Mount Kenya to the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. This sanctuary for black rhinos combines innovative conservation with a safari tour that’ll enlighten you on the great work done here. There’s also other wildlife to be found such as lions, elephants, and the African wild dog. Game corridors constructed to preserve the ecosystem will introduce you to the mighty “Big Five” in a unique manner.

Destination 3: Lake Nakuru National Park

Rise early and be rewarded by the calling cries of nature at Lake Nakuru. Birders will feel as though they’ve found paradise as the majestic great white pelican takes flight. Move between unearthly acacia trees and arrive at a soda lake where, if in season, thousands of pink flamingos feed from the water. Of course, a safari game drive that includes a sighting of the Rothschild giraffe and much more will be a highlight.

Destination 4: Masai Mara

Cruise the savannahs of the Mara Masai National Reserve, a 938 square mile park where the “Big Five” roam and hunt. Catch the sooty chat in flight as you enjoy a picnic lunch. Take flight yourself in a hot air balloon safari over the perennial Mara River, whose fast-flowing waters the wildebeest brave in their annual migration.

Destination 5: Lake Victoria

The world’s largest tropical Lake Victoria in Tanzania is your next destination. Upon arrival, visit the fishing communities that surround this alkaline water. If feeling the need to dust down and relax after an African safari, this is your spot. Full day boat excursions are easily arranged on your behalf; shorelines of flourishing vegetation and wildlife will captivate as you take a moment to take in your surroundings.

Destination 6: Central Serengeti

You’ll begin your day in Central Serengeti on a full safari game drive across Serengeti National Park, the place of a great wildebeest migration, hungry predators, and acacia woodland. You’ll be struck by the roar of lions, swamplands that host crocodiles, and the sight of a kill being dragged up a tree by a large cat. Once here you’ll see why Serengeti is at the top of many a traveller’s must-see list.

Destination 7: Ngorongoro Crater

The next stop on your trip involves an epic safari game, one where you’ll travel by 4x4 truck deep into the Ngorongoro Crater. Within one of the world’s largest calderas, discover a disparate land of swamps, lakes, and shortgrass plains. Acacia trees punctuate the landscape and provide birders with opportunities to spot rare species. The black rhino, a great wildebeest migration, as well as 25,000 other animals that include the “Big Five” are here for your viewing pleasure.

Destination 8: Pongwe

It’s time to leave the mainland and take a boat ride across the Indian Ocean to one of Zanzibar’s most luxurious settings, Pongwe. A resort area known for its palmy lined beaches, marine life, and outdoor activities that includes snorkelling and dives which lead to a coral reef bursting with colourful aquatic plants. Here, you’ll relax into the good life in a tropical setting that includes the ocean presence of turtles, sharks, and dolphins.
