1. Sydney
Your holiday begins on the east coast of Australia. Sydney, with its iconic and world-class acoustics of Sydney Opera House, pedestrianised cultural hubs, and beaches such as Bondi Beach promises a multitude of excellent days out. Visit Darling Harbour and get involved in aquarium activities that showcase some of the country’s deadliest marine life.
2. Alice Springs
Next up is Alice Springs, the spiritual heart of Australia, where you can ride a camel across red desert sands. Spot kangaroos, wallabies and rare birds as you move across an arid land of sandy dunes. The Territory Art Trail will introduce you to the art of Aboriginal people. After, cycle to Simpsons Gap, a gorge in the desert carved from the West MacDonnell Ranges.
3. Uluru
In the outback, you can watch the sandstone of a mighty rock turn a new shade of orange as the sun sets. Not only is Uluru a stand-alone attraction in the Northern Territory, and a monstrous 863 metres tall, it’s held sacred to Aboriginal people. Learn of mythical powers found among this arid landscape.
4. Watarrka National Park
Pull on your hiking boots and climb the rocky cliffs of Kings Canyon in Watarrka National Park. Sandstone walls that stand at 300 metres high will amaze you, as will the view whilst looking down at a forest of palms below. Pass flora and fauna unique to the region as you explore the land on a three-hour hike. Just remember to take pause and take in the view.
5. Alice Springs
Return to Alice Springs for a closer look and more fun outdoor activities. Take on an epic biking trail that wheels you over rolling hills. Hot air balloon rides will thrill you as they rise over land. The Larapinta Trail leads to permanent waterholes, Ormiston Gorge, and Glen Helen. Enjoy your time among 600 species of rare flora discovered in Alice Springs.
6. Palm Cove
End the trip of a lifetime in splendid relaxation by the sea. Among century-old Melaleuca trees that line the esplanades in this village suburb of Cairns, fully unwind at your leisure after a mammoth trip across Oz. Palm Cove is the perfect place to explore the Great Barrier Reef while snorkelling, diving, and sailing. If you prefer to relax then Palm Cover is great to indulge in a luxury spa, or fine-dine in a local restaurant.
