Sun-drenched Oudtshoorn

1. Cango Caves

At the entrance to the picturesque Cango Valley are the Cango Caves, a spectacular underground wonder. Located in a limestone plateau at the foothills of the Swartberg Mountains, here you will find towering formations of breath-taking stalactite caves within huge, natural halls. Cango Caves is the only show cave in Africa offering both easy sightseeing tours as well as optional adventure tours.

2. Ostrich Show Farms

Numerous ostrich farms can be found in and around the town of Oudtshoorn. These farms offer an exciting experience to get up close and personal to the world's largest living bird. Offering both educational tours as well as opportunities to view ostrich races. Watch in awe as ostrich jockeys race each other and hit speeds up to 70 kilometres per hour on the backs of these mighty birds.

3. Meerkat Safari

This tour starts with a meeting just before sunrise and usually takes two to three hours. It is worth getting up early to just watch the wonderful colours of the local sunrise with a cup of coffee. Your tour starts with a short hike to the nature reserve, where you can watch the cute meerkats play and interact as well as get some interesting information about these very social animals. Children over the age of ten are welcome.
