North America's natural wonder
What is there left to be said about Niagara Falls? This natural spectacle has attracted the human eye time and again, its scenery documented in countless films and photographs (remember Marilyn Monroe in Niagara?) that have become ubiquitous around the world. But one thing remains true: seeing them with your own eyes defies belief. The numerous towns, tourist attractions, and parks around this monumental landmark help you capture snapshots of a wonder that will stay with you for a lifetime.
Journey Behind The Falls
The observation platforms and tunnels found at Journey Behind the Falls, located in the Table Rock Centre beside the Canadian Horseshoe Falls, provide one of the most unique vantage points to explore the Falls in all their glory. One of the viewing platforms brings you within feet of the cascading waters—be prepared with a poncho.
It’s tempting to think of Niagara-on-the-Lake as a stopover location to visit its titular geographic landmark. But this Ontarian town holds far more than initial meets the eye. Wineries, colonial-style buildings, boutiques, and world-class bistros make up the backbone of a town that continues to thrive in its old-world charm and hospitality.
The Skylon Tower may look like the CN Tower in Toronto, but the views it offers couldn’t be more different. Standing at a soaring 520 feet above street level, the tower offers a vista of the Falls simply unattainable everywhere else. Two restaurants also sit on the top of the tower, a perfect way to continue gazing as you enjoy a glass of wine.
On the Niagara SkyWheel, an intimate, fully enclosed passenger car glides you high in the sky as you gaze upon the whole of the Niagara landscape. But these closed gondolas also offer a chance to experience an even more unique sight: a peek into the Niagara Falls at night, luminously shining in the darkness through a newly installed rainbow-coloured LED light system.
